Hommage 2002 Turbo
It is not a tribute to the 2002 but the 2002 Turbo. It was offered in 1973-74, a little bit more than 50 years ago. Nevertheless the
development of this vehicle ended in the time of the oil price crisis. The wind turned towards fuel-efficient vehicles.

The government introduces car-free sundays and BMW gets lots of critics, because they present not only the first series-Turbo, but try to
get attention by mirror writing it on the front. Drivers of slower cars read it through the rear-view mirror correctly and feel obliged to change
to the right lane immediately. After all, BMW abstained from this before the first deliveries. As you can see on the pictures, the mirror writing
is back again.
Both vehicles provide a good overview of the progress in fifty years of styling. Because the hommage is a prototype, it naturally
exaggerates. However, similarities are not so much caused by the two single headlights but rather more by the engine hood.

In figure 3 one could find it a perhaps somewhat unnecessarily paneled front end and would rather be curious to see how simple and
maybe more beautiful it looks under the covering. Nevertheless, some elements of the front could be used very well in a less pompous
appearance and give the double kidney a new surrounding. 05/16
